When the weekend comes around, waking up early is simply not an option – especially if you slave away your weekdays in corporate offices. Brunch combines our two favourite things in the world (breakfast & lunch, duh), sometimes, with the cheeky addition of day-drinking. Where else is it socially acceptable to hit the booze before noon? Get your posse together and recreate all the Sex and the City scenes… The ones with brunch, obviously. For non-drinkers, don’t worry, we got you guys covered too.

Boozy Brunches

Prime Pick: Four Seasons Nile Plaza

People who claim that Asian food is unsuitable for brunch have obviously never been to the Four Seasons Nile Plaza. Enjoy Restaurant 8’s sumptuous Chinese buffet every Friday, overlooking the Nile.

Dusit Thani Lakeview Cairo

Ruen Thai in Dusit Thani Lakeview Cairo is a veritable delight. The brunch is ‘Taste of Thailand’ themed, with a selection of foods representing the four main areas of Thailand – beyond stuffing your face with delectable cuisines, you learn stuff too.

This is for the ones who don’t mind going ‘all out’ while having brunch – by ‘all out’, we mean consuming cocktails and all the food. Enjoy a laid-back brunch at Kempinski with their intercontinental menu.

JW Marriott

Brunch with a view of the golf course and lake? We’re sold. Enjoy JW Marriot’s brunch buffet – especially their omelet station, with mixtures of fine herbs and fresh veggies. It’s pretty family-oriented, so feel free to take the little ones.

The Lemon Tree & Co

If you’re down to get glamorous for brunch, the Lemon Tree & Co. is the perfect option. The chef tends to experiment with the menu, so forget comfort food – it’s all about the gourmet experience.

Eat & Barrel

Who said brunch can’t include a little booty-shake? Attend Eat and Barrel’s ‘Eat to the Beat’ with DJs rocking the decks with fabulous sets. Amazing food with great music? Count us in.

Left Bank

The best thing about going to Left Bank for brunch is the beautiful weather. Overlooking the Nile, you can treat yourself to every kind of egg-variant under the sun. However, you might want to go a little early to get a good table because it usually gets crowded at noon.

Non-Boozy Brunches

Nothing says Maadi-resident quite like an addiction to Lucille’s. They have a variety of yummy American cuisine – with everything you might ever want for breakfast or brunch (eggs, pancakes, bacon, waffles, French Toast, and hash-browns)

Casper & Gambini’s

Their menu will make you want to eat everything — even when you’re too stuffed to take another bite. Head over and spoil your taste-buds with healthy food.

If you like eggs cooked with salmon or are craving a cheese platter, enjoy Ted’s diverse and creative menu – accentuated by their superb ingredients and great service. It may actually be worth the trip to Citystars.

Feeling peckish but don’t want to ruin your day’s appetite? Enjoy Paul’s freshly baked goods and pastries with a freshly brewed cup of joe. It’s all about quality and simplicity.

Caffe Greco

Another famous place for the hungry souls is Caffe Greco located on Maadi’s Road 9. Famous for its cozy atmosphere, delicious freshly baked pastries and out-of-this-world brewed coffee, it’s the perfect place for those who want a chill brunch.

Coffee Shop Company (Road 9):

Fancy a brunch on the roof or on the terrace? Coffeshop Company in Maadi offers scrumptious food and pretty sweet views of the leafy Maadi suburb. Of course, their morning pick-me-up iced coffee is to die for!
